Basic Life Support and use of an AED

Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator)

The casualty who is unresponsive and not breathing normally is in cardiac arrest and requires CPR immediately. Combining CPR with defibrillation will hugely increase survival rates of casualties.

This practical 4-hour course will ensure successful delegates have the competency and confidence to administer CPR and utilise an AED. Whilst an AED might seem quite daunting its worth noting that the British cardiologist and member of the Resus Council Professor Douglas Chamberlain said, "the only damage you can do to someone with an AED, is if you whack them around the head with it"

All delegates will have the opportunity to administer the defibrillation process using a training AED.
